Late Raja S. Bhonsale the former Advocate General of Maharashtra and was also the former judge of the High Court of Bombay he studied in the London University (University College and London School of Economics) Degree of the London University specialising in international institutions including United Nations he was also a barrister and called to the bar from Lincoln's Inn. He also obtained a diploma in international affairs of the London University.
After graduating in B.A. (Hons) in Economics from the university of Poona, And after graduating in law from the university of Poona he proceeded to London for higher studies.
While in London he was a member of Indian Students Organisation called MAJLIS and represented this organisation in various seminars and symposiums. On the continent of Europe (1956 in Berlin and 1960 in Salzburg Australia).
He took active part in the United Nations unit of the London University.
A student of M.Sc. (Economics) of the London University he specialised in international institutions or international organisations with special reference to United Nations and its specialised agencies.
He also read number of papers during the course of his studies for M.Sc. (Economics).
Along with International Organisation he also studied International Law at the Postgraduate Level. After returning to India he started his practise in the Hon'ble Bombay High Court in the year 1962 and during his practise he held the following positions.
He taught as a professor of International Law and other subjects in the university of Bombay and the Siddharth College of Law Bombay for nearly 14 years.
From 1971 to 1974 he was the Dean of faculty of law in the university of Bombay.
He was a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra from 1969 to 1977 and its Vice Chairman in the year 1973-74.
He was a Hon government Pleader of the State of Maharashtra from the year 1964 to 1969.
As an Assistant Government Pleader from the year 1969 to 1975.
Appointed as an Additional Government Pleader for the state of Maharashtra in the year 1976 and thereafter, Government Pleader for the state of Maharashtra at the High Court (Appellate side) Bombay from 1976 to 1979.
As an Advocate General for the state of Maharashtra from 1978 to December, 1979.
Elevated as a judge of the Bombay High Court from December 1979 to December 1981.
He started his practise again from 1982.
He designated as a senior advocate both of the High Court and of the Supreme Court of India.
He was closely associated with several educational and social institutions.
He was the founder of the law college in Taluka Phaltan Dist. Satara. He was the adviser to many educational institutions.
